NIRI Announces 2010-2011 Annual Chapter Achievement and Leadership Award Winners


ORLANDO, Fla – The National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) today announced its annual Chapter Achievement Awards and Individual Leadership Awards winners, awarding Best Overall Small Chapter to Atlanta, and Best Overall Large Chapter to New York.

NIRI Chairman Doug Wilburne, Vice President, Investor Relations, Textron Inc., said, “I am deeply honored to recognize these outstanding chapters and members on behalf of the NIRI Board of Directors. Suzanne Brink, Investor Relations Manager, Royal Gold, Inc. and president of the NIRI Rocky Mountain chapter, was also honored with the University of Michigan Scholarship Award. Ms. Brink was selected to receive this award based on an essay competition, and will receive a scholarship to attend the University of Michigan’s “Theory and Practice of Investor Relations” executive education program.


Anne Guimard, President, FINEO Investor Relations, received the NIRI National Volunteer of the Year Award. This award, introduced in 2009, honors a NIRI member who best exemplifies the NIRI mission of “advancing the practice of investor relations and professional competency and stature NIRI members” at the national level. Ms. Guimard is co-chair of the International Committee for the Virtual Chapter and serves on the 2011 NIRI Annual Conference Planning Committee.


The awards were presented at the NIRI Chapter Leadership Dinner and Awards Program in Orlando, Florida, site of the 2011 NIRI Annual Conference, the world’s largest annual gathering of investor relations professionals. Inspired by the increasingly challenging global environment, IR professionals from around the world will discuss new regulatory and governance requirements, rapidly changing capital markets, the evolving media landscape and other timely topics at this event.
