NIRI President and CEO Jeffrey D. Morgan Receives Industry Accolades

Vienna, VA – The National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) today announced that NIRI president and CEO Jeffrey D. Morgan has been named to the National Association of Corporate Directors’ (NACD’s) 2011 Directorship 100, in recognition of his work promoting the highest standards of corporate governance.

The Directorship 100 is a list recognizing the most influential people in the corporate governance community. This is Mr. Morgan’s second consecutive year appearing on the annual list. According to the NACD, honorees in the “Governance Institutions and Professionals” category in which Mr. Morgan appears are included based on the influence of the organizations they serve. Other honorees from among this category include SEC Chairman Mary Schapiro, CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler, Chancellor of the Delaware Court of the Chancery Leo Strine and Congressmen Spencer Bachus and Richard Shelby.

Mr. Morgan was also recently named one of the country’s top association CEOs by the association industry publication CEO Update. According to the publication, honorees on this prestigious annual list are chosen from interviews with hundreds of CEOs, executive recruiters and CEO Update staff. Factors for consideration include the individual’s legislative success, leadership ability, skill in raising a group’s profile or managing a crisis, history of building coalitions and reaching consensus, and program success in areas such as meetings, education and certification.

NIRI chairman Doug Wilburne said, “I speak on behalf of the NIRI Board of Directors in congratulating Jeff for receiving these two well earned professional awards. Being named again to the NACD Directorship 100 is recognition for his tireless efforts in raising public awareness for the important role the investor relations profession plays in corporate governance. Regarding the CEO Update award, Jeff simply sets the standard for leadership excellence among his association peers. NIRI members and the IR community are fortunate to have such a consummate professional at the helm of NIRI, the world’s largest investor relations professional association.”
